Howard Johnson Express Inn - Lake Charles

This hotel is between two major highways and is conveniently located. It is easy to get in and out and is clean.

The pool was small. The room did not smell or appear fresh it was rather dark. The hotl staff never answered the phone. It was quiet and not entirely bad but I wouldn't recommend to anyone traveling for leisure. Also towels need to be reaced they were dingy and hard. Thank goodness I had my own. The beds were not fresh, the Ice Maker for the entire hotel did not work. The cable TV did not work most of the time. There were live, baby roaches crawling everywhere. The hotel staff said they just had it exterminated but from the looks of it...the exterminator added new roaches or sprayed with water. Good basic hotel.

Good basic hotel for traveling contractors, not so much for families.

Very clean, and comfortable. Refrigerator was turned on and very cold when we arrived. Very little outside noise. Excellent accommodations for the price.

I was very disappointed in the overall room. The air did not work properly, so it was stuffy, the shower was weak, and the breakfast was not ready and then had only two places with which to sit.
